FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is IV therapy?

IV therapy is an infusion of vitamins, minerals, and nutrients designed to help you feel better. Your IV drip is customized to meet your needs, whether you need a boost of energy or want to manage chronic pain.

Oral vitamins get broken down in your stomach, and your body may only absorb about 50% of the nutrients. When nutrients enter your blood directly, rather than undergoing digestion and absorption, your body utilizes them faster and more efficiently.

What are the benefits of IV therapy?

Many patients find that adding IV infusions to their health care regimen boosts overall wellness, reduces pain, and improves mood. Benefits include:

  • Reduced stress
  • Increased hydration
  • Fewer nutrient deficiencies
  • Detoxification
  • Enhanced immunity
  • Healthier, younger-looking skin
  • Increased energy and improved mental focus
  • Disease management
  • Hangover relief
  • Nutrient absorption with IV therapy is much more efficient than taking oral multivitamins or other dietary supplements.

If you have a chronic health condition, such as asthma, allergies, migraines, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, respiratory tract infections, or thyroid disorders, IV therapy may help you better manage your disease and reduce symptoms.

What happens during IV therapy?

At The Alternative Touch Wellness, your infusion therapy is customized to meet your specific needs. Your practitioner works with you to help you decide what type of IV infusions are best for your body and your goals.

During an IV therapy session, your health practitioner places an IV into a vein in your arm. Next, a customized blend of fluids is inserted into the IV drip. You can rest, read, or even take a short nap while your body absorbs these nutrients.

The entire procedure might take 20-60 minutes to complete. Most treatments take less than an hour.

IV therapy is a noninvasive treatment with no downtime, so you can resume normal everyday activities immediately after IV therapy. Your provider lets you know how often to schedule sessions to achieve the best possible results.

Is IV therapy the right choice for me?

There are no negative side effects associated with IV therapy. Combined with traditional and non-traditional therapies, IV infusion is a noninvasive treatment that can improve your quality of life.

When you’re ready to achieve or maintain optimal health and have the energy you desire, call The Alternative Touch Wellness to schedule an IV therapy appointment or use the online booking tool.

What kind of IV Therapy Do I need?

Basic IV Hydration – Basic IV Hydration provides essential fluids to support hydration and fluid balance.

Myer’s Cocktail – The primary focus of the cocktail is fighting inflammation and strengthening the immune systems with Magnesium, B-Complex Vitamins, Calcium Gluconate and Ascorbic Acid.

NAD + Infusion – NAD+ is an important co-factor that helps support mitochondrial function. Mitochondria are the parts of our cells that produce energy. As we age, NAD+ levels naturally decline due to reduced production and increased stress on the body. Low NAD+ levels may contribute to fatigue, brain fog, dull skin, and poor sleep. Increasing NAD+ levels may help support energy production, cellular health, and overall wellness as we age. This drip requires a slower infusion rate of at least 2 hours.

What kind of booster's are available?

Ascorbic Acid- (Vitamin C) is an antioxidant that helps protect the body’s cells from damage. It supports healthy skin, bones, teeth, blood vessels, and the immune system.

Biotin – Helps convert certain nutrients into energy. Plays an important role in the health of your hair, skin and nails.

Glutathione – Helps remove toxins from the body and brain, supports the immune system, and assists with tissue repair and overall cellular health. It also helps fight oxidative stress, which is linked to aging and many chronic conditions. Glutathione levels naturally decline with age and can also be lowered by stress, poor nutrition, and environmental toxins. Supporting or increasing glutathione levels may help improve energy, immune function, liver health, and skin appearance.
